The first batch of food supplies from Port Harcourt, River state has arrived in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa state capital to cushion the effect of the ravaging flood.
Recall that the Bayelsa state governor, Douye Diri had directed that barges of petroleum products and food items be transported to the state, to ameliorate the suffering of the people.

This follows the current situation at the East-West road where portions of the road have been watched off by the natural disaster, making it impassable for persons and goods into the state.
