BAYELSA
Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri

Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, alongside key stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state, has declared total support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.

The endorsement comes at a stakeholders’ meeting of the APC held at the DSP Alamieyeseigha Memorial Banquet Hall Yenagoa, as the Governor calls on politicians to eschew politics of intimidation and division, and focus on governance, development, and people-oriented politics.

It is the first official gathering of Governor Diri with party stakeholders since his defection to the APC on November 3, 2025.

The atmosphere is one of renewed political alignment as the Governor, meets with leaders and stakeholders of the party in the state.

Addressing the gathering, Governor Diri assures President Tinubu of overwhelming support from Bayelsa State in the 2027 general election, pledging what he describes as 100% commitment to the party’s success.

Deliberations at the meeting centred on strengthening party unity and the planned launch of the APC electronic registration exercise for eligible members across the state.

A motion endorsing support for President Tinubu’s re-election was moved by Governor Diri and seconded by Senator Konbowei Benson and the former Deputy Governor, Peremobowei Ebebi, before it is unanimously adopted through a voice vote.
