A legislation, the Community Safety Corps bill 2021, which aims to centralize all state controlled security outfits under a single command, has been passed the Bayelsa State House of Assembly on Thursday.
Lending his voice on the passage of the bill, Speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Abraham Ingobere said when assented to by the State Governor, the legislation will help to address issues of insecurity across the State.
Chairman of the Bayelsa State House Joint Committee on Security and Local Government, Colonel. Bernard Kenebai (Retired) while throwing more light on the legislation said measures have been put in place to ensure undesirable elements are not recruited.

When signed into law, the legislation is expected to add more bite to the efforts of security operatives battling various forms of crime in the state.
