Bayelsa Governor warns against payroll fraud

Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri says his administration will not condone acts inimical to the progress of the state, referring specifically to persons found culpable of payroll fraud.

He said such persons will be treated as an enemy of the state and be dealt with according to the law.

Governor Diri gave the warning at a send-forth ceremony organized by the state government in Yenagoa for the immediate past chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers, NUT, John Kala-ama.

Represented by the Deputy Governor, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, he called on labour unions to collaborate with his administration to refocus the state workforce on the paths of efficient service delivery and career development.

He also commended the leadership of all labor unions and their members over their support for the present administration and urged them to sustain the prevailing industrial harmony in the state.
