The All Progressives Congress says Timipre Sylva remains the Party’s Candidate for the Bayelsa November 11, 2023 Governorship election

National Publicity Secretary of the party, Felix Morka gave the clarification on Tuesday.

A Federal High Court presided over by Justice Donatus Okonkwo had on Monday disqualified Sylva for the election on the ground that having been sworn in twice and served for five years was not eligible to contest as Governor again.

But the APC says it has instructed the legal team to appeal the said decision of the Federal High Court “diligently and expeditiously”.

The statement urged its members, supporters and residents of Bayelsa to remain calm and await the outcome of the appeal.

The patty restated its commitment to the party’s Governorship Campaign flagoff scheduled for Saturday, October 14, 2023 in Yenagoa.

It noted that with nothing to offer Bayelsa electorate, following its lacklustre performance as the ruling party, the PDP in Bayelsa has resorted to mercenary lawsuits, underhand dealings and antics to distract and create confusion among the people of the state.
