Legislators of the 6th Bayelsa State House of Assembly returned to work on Friday following the suspension of nearly three months strike by the Parliamentary Staff Union across Nigeria.
The State lawmakers deliberated on 3 bills aimed at improving public safety and governance.
The bills include a bill for an Act to establish the Bayelsa State Special Waste Management Agency, the Community Safety and Audit Bill.

Addressing other members, the Speaker Abraham Ingobere noted that the house had in the last legislative quarter, been able to pass impactful bills despite the challenges posed by Covid 19 pandemic.
He reaffirmed the cordial relationship between the State Assembly and the executive arm of government.
Addressing Journalists, the Chairman, House Committee on Information, Tare Porri said the 6th Assembly has so far passed 21 bills.
He also spoke on the issue of parliamentary autonomy as it affects Bayelsa State.
Meanwhile, the legislators have received a list of eight nominees from the Bayelsa State Governor, who are to be screened for various positions in the State Local Government Service Commission and Physical Planning Board.
