A cracked team of the Operation Puff Adder, an anti-vice unit of the Bayelsa State Police Command, has arrested a suspected armed robber and recovered from him various criminal exhibits including a locally made pistol, eight cartridges, and illicit drugs
The Bayelsa State Police Public Relations Officer, Asinim Buswat, who disclosed this in a release to the media, said that a search conducted on the apartment of the 37-year-old male suspect at Famgbe Town in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State Capital, also led to the recovery of an army bulletproof vest.

Buswat said that the suspect is cooperating with the police and would be prosecuted at the end of the investigation.

In a related development, the Bayelsa State Police Command SWAT Squad also smashed a four-man armed robbery gang.
The Police authorities said that they were caught while planning to launch an attack on a known location.
The suspects, from whom a Beretta revolver was recovered, according to the police, are helping with useful information and would soon be charged to court.
