The Bayelsa State Government says the state received over one trillion naira from the Federation Account Allocation Committee and Internally Generated Revenue in the 2025 budget, representing a twenty per cent increase compared with 2024.

This was disclosed at a stakeholders’ public interactive session on the preparation of the 2027 Citizens’ and Annual Budget, held at the Harold Dappa-Biriye Conference Hall in Yenagoa, the state capital.

The Bayelsa State public interactive session is aimed at reviewing the performance of the 2025 budget and getting inputs for the 2027 fiscal year to engender accountability and make governance more inclusive in the state.

Technical Adviser on Treasury and Accounts to the State Government, Timipre Seipolu, gives an overview of the state’s 2025 budget performance.

Representing Governor Douye Diri is the Deputy Governor, Peter Akpe.

He says the administration’s fiscal policies and budget implementation have contributed to meaningful development and employment opportunities for citizens of the state.

The collation of ideas and inputs from Bayelsans is expected to ensure accountability and transparency in governance.
