The Bayelsa State House Of Assembly has passed the State’s Audit Amendment Bill 2021.
Moving for the amendment, Leader of the House and Sponsor of the bill Monday Edwin Obolo, said the amendment sought is to raise the retirement age of the Auditor General of the State and that of Local Governments from 56- 60yrs.

He argued that this would bring the law into compliance with international best practices.
With no counter argument, the bill was thereafter given an expeditious passage by all members present.
