As Coronavirus continue to make inroads into new territories leaving in its wake, devastating effects, the people in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state capital, seem to be showing lackadaisical attitude to the new global health epidemic.

In Bayelsa State, although, no suspected incident has been reported, a visit to some public places like schools and markets to ascertain the level of awareness and preparedness, showed a lot is left to be desired about the pandemic.
However, at the Niger Delta University Teaching Hospital, Okolobiri, Professor Dimie Ogoina, who doubles as the Chief Medical Director as well as President, Nigeria Society for Infectious Diseases took AIT to an already set up isolation centre with well-trained health personnel in readiness of the outbreak of COVID-19.
