Bayelsa State Government says it has set up a quarantine centre at the Niger Delta University Teaching Hospital and deployed well-trained health officials to riverine border communities among other measures to contain any possible outbreak of the Coronavirus disease in the state.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Dr. Apoku Nathaniel, while briefing the Governor, Senator Douye Diri and other top government officials on their preparedness, in Yenagoa, the state capital, also noted that the Ministry has wrapped up plans to embark on enlightenment campaigns to keep residents of the state abreast of the disease.

Bayelsa is among the states in Nigeria without any suspected case of the Coronavirus as reported in Lagos, Ogun, and plateau States.
As part of the proactive measures, the State Governor met with senior health officials in the state to plan for unforeseen circumstances.
With governments at all levels making frantic moves to contain the disease, it also behold on the citizens to take personal hygiene seriously as well as avoid crowded places.
