English football’s biggest overseas broadcast partners, Bein Sports, have urged the Premier League to critically investigate the takeover of Newcastle by a Saudi Arabian company.
The broadcast giants have warned the Premier League that Saudi Arabia’s involvement in piracy of matches threatens the future prosperity of the English top-flight.
The takeover is almost completed after the Saudi backed consortium, PCP capitals paid a deposit and exchanged contracts papers with owner, Mike Ashley.
The move has already faced a challenge from Amnesty International, who sites Saudi Arabia’s poor human rights record.

The Premier League`s owners’ and directors’ test is the only aspect of the deal left to be completed as the contracts are legally binding.
Once this is finalised, the remainder of the 300 million pounds fee will be forwarded to Ashley and the deal could be completed as early as the end of the month.
