The State Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue on Wednesday night ratified the appointment of Benjamin Omakolo as the Party’s acting chairman.
The meeting was held at the old Banquet Hall of the Government House, Makurdi and was presided over by the State Governor, Hyacinth Alia.
ait.live reports that the State Executive members of the ruling APC were at the Government House to request that the vacant position of the State chairman of the Party be filled following Austin Agada’s suspension to save the party from further crisis.

Responding, Governor Hyacinth Alia told the Party officials that he had been under undue pressure
from stakeholders of the party from the Benue South senatorial district regarding the said matter, leaving him no choice but to fill the vacuum pending the outcome of the case filed against Agada.
Accepting the new responsibility to act as Chairman of the party in the State, Benjamin Omakolo promised to unite the party and strategically place it in a position to win more elections in the future,
Omakolo was the Welfare Secretary of the Party in the State before his elevation to the position of acting Chairman.
