The Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia has been declared winner of the just concluded governorship primary election in the State.
Chairman of the APC governorship primary election, Professor Mohammad Isah who announced the results at the party secretariat in Makurdi the State capital said Governor Alia polled 367,786 votes to defeat other contestants.
Governor Alia closest opponent Pastor Terwase Orbunde polled 3,247 votes while Jeffery Kuraun got 2,923 votes to come place third in Thursday’s Governorship primaries of the All Progressives Congress in the State.

In his acceptance speech, Governor Hyacinth Alia appreciated the members of the party for the overwhelming support and for also embracing direct primaries where the people’s will prevailed in all the primary elections conducted.
He pledged to sustain his infrastructural development drive to ensure Benue became the envy of other states.
