The All Progressives Congress, APC, Benue State chapter has suspended Senator Barnabas Gemade, Terhemba Shija, and five other wards Chairmen for anti-party activities.

The State Chairman of the Party comrade Austin Agada who announced the suspension of the duo during the Party’s expanded stakeholders meeting in Makurdi disclosed that Gemade and Shija who were both Governorships aspirants of the Party in the just concluded 2023 elections, were working with the Peoples Democratic party PDP in Benue to ensure that APC did not have a candidate following their rejection by the people at the primaries.

Comrade Agada said, “Most worrisome is their recent activities with the PDP to take the Party to Court and alleged several issues to ensure that the recent victory is twarted”

According to him, the duo worked against the party in ensuring that the party did not have candidates especially governorship candidate in the just concluded election.

Agada said, “both of them are conniving with the PDP till date to frustrate the Governor-elect, lamenting a situation where an aspirant in the same Party will drag the Party candidate to Court just to ensure that it does not have a candidate.

He said, “The duo are hereby suspended and referred to the facts finding and disciplinary Committee for further investigations”

Agada decried a situation where Gemade will not even win his polling unit in the just concluded election which clearly shows that he was and is still working with the PDP to frustrate APC, saying, “The party will not in anyway fold its arm to watch few persons in their selfish interest destroyed the party”

The Party also suspended five other wards executives In Konshisha and Obi for anti-Party activities and referred the same to the facts finding and disciplinary Committee.
