The National and State Assembly election petition tribunal in Benue State headed by a three-man panel of judges led by Justice Ory Zik Ikeorha has held its inaugural sitting.
A total of thirty-five petitions are before the Election petition tribunal for consideration.
Similarly, the governorship election petition tribunal for the State has been shifted to Nassarawa state as counsels representing the main political parties involved say the decision is in good fate.
Chairman of the tribunal Ory Zik-Ikeorha alongside two other colleagues sued for the cooperation of all parties involved to enable the tribunal to complete the assignment within the stipulated period of a hundred and eight days.

Meanwhile, the other tribunal which was also slated to sit in Makurdi is the Governorship election petition tribunal which has been moved to neighboring Nassarawa State.
The inauguration of the National and State Assembly elections petitions tribunal in Benue State marks the commencement of the pre-hearing conference which shall last for 14 days.
