The Benue State Government, has again initiated moves to broker peace between the warring communities of Ukpute and Bonta of Oju and Konshisha local councils of the State.
State Governor, Samuel Ortom, led other top government functionaries as well as representatives of the areas, to meet with the critical
Stakeholders of the two affected communities.
The lingering crisis between the Ukpute and Bonta Communities of Oju and Konshisha local councils which has claimed several lives, including the military operatives caught up in the crossfire, has left even leaders of the State quite helpless.

After several deliberate attempts to bring the crisis to an end, a different strategy was adopted by the State Government who decided to meet the communities in their domain.
First was the Bonta Community. the Government delegation then proceeded to the Ukpute community leaders of Oju.
The deliberation rounded off in Aliade town, where both communities resolved to end the protracted crisis.
