President Bola Tinubu has commissioned the Benue State-owned Concentrate and juice factory, describing it as a major step toward industrial growth and economic development in the state.

The President performed the commissioning ceremony at the Industrial Layout in Makurdi and commended Governor Hyacinth Alia for the prudent use of state resources.

President Bola Tinubu, represented by his Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, officially inaugurated the BenSono Fruit Processing Company’s juice concentrate factory, marking the commencement of full-scale production.

The project is expected to boost industrialization, create employment opportunities, and add value to agricultural produce in Benue State.

The President praised the state government’s commitment to infrastructure development, noting the remarkable transformation since his last visit to the state.

State Governor Hyacinth Alia reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to implementing people-centred policies aimed at addressing the state’s development challenges and improving the livelihoods of residents.

The Group Managing Director of the Benue Investment and Property Company (BIPC) Raymond Asemakaha said the juice concentrate facility has the capacity to produce up to 4,000 metric tonnes annually, positioning it to meet both local demand and industrial supply needs.

The newly commissioned Benfruit factory will process a variety of fruits, including oranges, mangoes, pineapples, watermelons, and apples, into juice and concentrate for local consumption and commercial use.

The project is expected to strengthen Benue’s agro-processing sector, create jobs, and enhance the state’s position as Nigeria’s food basket.
