Austin Agada in the early hours of Sunday emerged Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Benue State, North-Central Nigeria.
He was declared winner by the Chairman Benue state APC Congress Committee and Speaker Gombe State House of Assembly, Abubakar Mohammed Luggarewo at the Aper Aku Stadium Makurdi, the state capital.

Agada, a native of Owukpa, in Ogbadibo LGA, polled 1,385 votes to clinch the position ahead of his rival, Omale Omale, from Apa LGA, who garnered 27 votes.
Reacting to his victory, Agada urged those who contested for the seat to join hands with him to move the party forward.
He thanked the leadership of the party for the trust and confidence reposed in him.
Other key officials elected include former Benue State House of Assembly Speaker, Stephen Tsav as Deputy Chairman, Paul Biam as Secretary and James Tor as Zonal Vice Chairman (Zone B). James Ornguga was elected as Organising Secretary, Dan-Morgan Ihomun as Publicity Secretary and Awuese Nancy Torhee as Woman Leader.
