Benue State Government pledges strict adherence to quality in delivering basic school infrastructure projects

In its quest to reposition public primary schools in Benue State, the State Government is insisting on strict adherence to quality delivery in the execution of contracts for its basic school rehabilitation projects.

Executive Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board, Doctor Grace Adagba stated this during an inspection and media survey of some schools insisting that
defects and shortfalls at the Special Needs School in Moor Vandeikya LGA must be corrected before it is handed over.

As part of measures to lessen the burden of high tuition imposed by private schools, the Benue State Government in collaboration with the Federal Government is reviving public schools in the state.

The St. Francis Special Needs School, Moor, Vandeikya LGA is one of such schools enjoying the said intervention,

Executive Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board Grace Adagba was in Benue to inspect and conduct a survey of the FGN/UBEC 2024 and 2025 Direct Intervention Projects for the construction/renovation of blocks of classrooms, offices, and WASH facilities

She said the visit provides an opportunity for the physical planning team to assess the quality of work executed and ensure that all projects meet the prescribed standards before final handover.

She identified some shortages and structural defects, stressing that the said shortcomings should be rectified to meet the specifications.

The LGEA (NKST) Primary School, Moor is another of such schools under the interventions were the Executive Chairman expressed satisfaction with the work done so far.

School authorities say the projects have transformed previously dilapidated learning environments, enhanced teaching and learning as well as contributed significantly to increased enrolment.
