Special Adviser to the Benue State Governor in Bureau for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Dennis Akura has described as false alleged misappropriation of N20 billion Local Government funds which led to his recent summon by the House of Representatives.
Akura says he has run a transparent administration since his appointment in October last year adding that he will honour the said invitation by the House as he has nothing to hide.
The N20 billion allegedly misappropriated belongs to the 23 local councils of the State but Akura insists that he has never interfered in anyway with the money as the councils have enjoyed full autonomy.
The Governor’s aide was summoned by the House of Representatives along with Directors of General Services and Administration from the 23 local governments, cashiers and other key staff members who are expected to answer questions bordering on the allegations of misappropriation.
