The Benue State Government has approved the recruitment of 1,500 teachers to fill in the gap in secondary school education in the State.
This is coming shortly after a recent approval to employ 2,500 teachers for its primary schools.
The State Governor, Samuel Ortom disclosed the development when he met with royal fathers from the Masev, Ihyarev and Nongov intermediate areas from the four Local Governments Areas of Makurdi, Guma,Gwer East and West led by the Tor Lobi Moses Anagande.

The visit by the monarchs which was aimed at addressing salient security issues in the state however provided opportunities for the Governor to dwell on issues of boundary and land disputes in the state even as he reiterated his commitment to crush criminality in the state.
