10-time Africa Women Wrestling Queen, Blessing Oborodudu, has brought Nigeria’s first wrestling silver medal at the ongoing Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
In the final of the 68kg Freestyle Wrestling, Oborududu lost narrowly to a world champion from the United States Tamyra Mensah-Stock 4-1.
The feat by Oborodudu earns its Nigeria first-ever medal in Wrestling at the Olympics, despite losing for the fourth time to the Ghanaian American Mensah-Stock who competed at her first Olympics.

Nigeria will still be presented with another opportunity to win an additional medal, when the World Championship bronze medalist, Odunayo Adekuoroye, takes to the mat against Moldova’s Anastasia Nichita in the Women’s Freestyle 57kg class.
