Borno MNJTF Troops Neutralize Neutralize 9 Terrorists, Recover Significant Arms , Ammunition In Sector 3 Nigeria

The Multinational Joint Task Force, (MNJTF), has neutralized 9 terrorists and recovered significant arms and ammunition in Sector 3 Nigeria. This is in continuation of Operation Lake Sanity-2.

A statement by Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, the Chief Military Public Information Officer, at the Headquarters of the Multinational Joint Task Force, N’djamena Chad, says, on 18 July 2024, troops conducted an offensive operation in Yashinti Village, in Nganzai Local Government Area of Borno State, Nigeria and 4 terrorists were neutralized. during the fight.

Recovered items include one AK-47 rifle, 3 AK-47 rifle magazines and 7 rounds of 7.62mm and 39mm special ammunition.

The statement said in a separate clearance operation across Gajiram, and some other areas in Nganzai LGA, troops neutralized 4 more terrorists attempting to disrupt agricultural activities.

A 10-year-old boy, Mustapha Bukar, who had been abducted by the terrorists, was rescued and reunited with his family.

Recovered arms include 2 AK-47 rifles, 4 magazines and 30 rounds of 7.62mm and 30mm ammunition.
Additionally, MNJTF troops conducted a night ambush at an identified terrorist crossing point in Kukawa LGA.
One terrorist was neutralized in this operation.

Troops recovered one AK-47 rifle, six magazines, and 118 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition.
These operations highlight MNJTF’s ongoing commitment to restoring peace and stability in Lake Chad basin region.

The Chief Military Public Information Officer at the Headquarters of the Multinational Joint Task Force in Ndjamena Chad, Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi says the successful neutralization of terrorists and recovery of arms not only weakened the operational capabilities of the insurgents, but also provides a sense of safety and confidence to the local communities.
