Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, says his administration would be closing the Internally Displaced Persons, IDP, camps within Maiduguri metropolis on or before December 31, 2021.
Zulum disclosed this to State House Correspondents after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Friday.
He said he was at Villa to brief the President on the development as well as request for the federal government’s input in the refugees’ resettlement efforts of his administration.

He added that plans were also on to repatriate Nigerian refugees, currently living in IDP camps in parts of Niger Republic.
The Governor further disclosed that those taking refuge in Diffa Province of Niger Republic would be relocated to their homes in Malam Fatori, Borno State, on November 27, this year.
