The Republic of Botswana has announced that it has registered its first suspected case of coronavirus at the Sir Seretse Khama International Airport.
The Director Health Services, Malaki Tshipayagae, made this known in a statement.
Tshipayagae said the suspected case was registered at the airport upon arrival via Ethiopian Airways from China and is still under isolation at Block 8 Clinic and investigations are on-going.
It advised passengers and crew who experienced symptoms while traveling that the nearest destination stop should be alerted for prompt health care assistance.

The country’s Health Ministry promised it would continue to monitor the situation closely in consultation with the World Health Organisation and will keep the public updated.
