The National Boundary Commission says it has been able to establish a single borderline state boundary between Katsina state and neighbouring Jigawa, Kano and Kaduna States.
The Director-General of the Commission, Surveyor Adamu Adaji said this in Katsina during a joint meeting of officials of Katsina, Kano and Zamfara States over interstate boundary demarcation.

He said the banditry bedevilling the Katsina and Zamfara forest areas has slowed down the pace of demarcation work.
He expressed hope that with the current onslaught against the bandits, the demarcation will be completed sooner than expected, adding that the meeting between officials of the Katsina/Zamfara boundary committee will enable the commission work on a fresh road map towards the physical tracing of the interstate boundary.
The Deputy Governor and Chairman of the Katsina State Boundary Committee, Mannir Yakubu, said the Kano/Katsina boundary is one of the most peaceful interstate boundaries in the country, saying demarcation was done without any dispute.
In a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting, both states resolved that the National Boundary Commission can commence an action towards the permanent demarcation of the boundary between the two states.
The communiqué also stipulated that each state will sponsor its team during the pillar emplacement exercise with adequate security provided by both states.
