The Edo State Commissioner of Police, Funsho Adegboye has confirmed the release of kidnapped Edo State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairman, Tony Aziegbemi.
CP Adegboye in a telephone call on Tuesday morning told ait.live that Tony Aziegbemi was released by his captors midnight of Tuesday and has been reunited with his family.
The Comissioner of Police while appealing for calm from the people of Edo State has promised to go after the kidnappers as full investigation has been launched to unravel the mystery behind his kidnap.

Also, the Special Adviser to Governor Godwin Obaseki on Media Projects, Crusoe Osagie, equally confirmed to AIT via a telephone chat that the Chairman of the ruling PDP in Edo State has regained his freedom after spending 10 days in the kidnappers’ den.
The Edo State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairman, Tony Aziegbemi was kidnapped on March 15, 2024 while on his way home from an engagement within the State capital, Benin City.
