All 13 passengers abducted on Wednesday along the Makurdi–Otukpo Road in Benue State, North-Central Nigeria have regained their freedom.
The rescue reportedly occurred in the early hours of Sunday, though authorities are yet to release full details of the operation.

In a short message, Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Udeme Edet said there will be a media briefing by the Commissioner Of Police concerning the rescue Operation of the 13 abducted victims at the Command Headquarters
More details of the rescue will be received during the said briefing.
The abduction had earlier raised concerns among residents and commuters along the busy Makurdi–Otukpo axis, a route that has witnessed sporadic security challenges in recent times.
Local sources, however, expressed relief over the safe return of the victims, describing the development as a significant breakthrough amid ongoing security concerns in the area.
