The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has declared the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri winner of the Adamawa State Governorship Election.
Fintiri won re-election for a second term in office with 430, 861 votes defeating his closest rival and candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Aishatu Ahmed Binani who polled 398,788 votes.

Governor Fintiri was declared the winner after the resumption of the collation of the supplementary election results about three days after the exercise was suspended by INEC.
