The Gombe state Internal Revenue Service, has lend it’s support to the Federal Internal Revenue Service, firs, on the controversial collection of the value added tax VAT from states, stating that the present set up would ensure equity.
The state internal revenue service, disclosed this while receiving the award as the sixth fastest state in terms of revenue generation.

The GSIRS added that, the current position taken by both Lagos and Rivers states, would lead to multiple taxation, which would hurt the Nigerian tax payer.
It however called on the federal government through federal internal revenue service, to be transparent in their dealings and ensure equity in the distribution of earnings.
