The Department of State Services, DSS has denied reports that its operatives invaded Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN Headquarters in Abuja and took over office of the embattled Governor, Godwin Emefiele
A statement by DSS spokesperson, Dr. Peter Afunanya described report about its invasion of CBN Headquarters in Abuja as “false news making the round” following indications that the embattled Governor, Godwin Emefiele resumed work after his vacation.

Details were sketchy but pictures obtained by AIT.live show men dressed in suit as is the tradition of DSS operatives in mufti in the CBN Headquarters.
CBN has already confirmed that its Governor, Godwin Emefiele, has resumed duty after his
annual vacation abroad ahead of the first Monetary
Policy Committee, MPC meeting of 2023 scheduled for January 23 to 24.
It will be recalled that the Federal High Court Abuja in a ruling on December 19, 2022 by President of the Court, Justice John Tsoho refused to approve an application by the DSS to arrest and detain Emefiele on terrorism allegations
Meanwhile,the FCT High Court sitting in Garki, had on December 29, 2022 granted an order restraining the DSS, EFCC and police from arresting or harassing Emefiele.
The embattled CBN Governor who could not personally appear before Senate on December 28 after he was summoned over policy on cash withdrawal limits said he was on medical vacation abroad.
