The local government office of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC in Kaura Namoda, Zamfara State, North-West Nigeria has been gutted by fire.
The inferno which started at about 9pm on Monday reportedly razed the entire building, as firefighters battle to put out the fire but could not due to lack of water in their tank.

Eyewitness told ait.live via telephone that nothing was removed from the affected INEC office. The cause of the fire incident has not been ascertained.
Efforts to reach the State INEC Head of Voter Education and Publicity proved unsuccessful as he was not responding to calls as at the time of filing this report.
