Only five out of the eight serving governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP are currently attending the elective National Convention of the party holding Ibadan, Oyo State, South-West Nigeria.
The governors present as the convention opens at the Lekan Salami Stadium Ibadan include the host, Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State who is the chairman of the convention planning committee and Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau state.
Others are the chairman of the PDP governors forum, Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state and governor Lawal Dauda of Zamfara state.

The notable absentees are Governors Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers state, Agbu Kefas of Taraba state and Ademola Adeleke of Osun state
Leading members of the party from the National Assembly present include Senator Abdul Ningi, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan and House of Representatives member and Chairman of PDP Caucus, Fred Agbedi.
