Two farmers have lost their lives in a fresh crisis between farmers and suspected Fulani herdsmen at Isaba Ekiti, in Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State.

Sources said, trouble started when the farmers protested the alleged invasion of their farms by the herdsmen who retreated and mobilised their kinsmen for a reprisal attack on the farmers.

Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO in the state, Sunday Abutu, has confirmed that there was crises between some farmers and some herdsmen, which led to some casualties.

The PPRO explained that investigation has already commenced, to unravel what caused the fracas and promised that the culprits will be brought to book.

Reacting to the incident, the Commandant of Amotekun Security Corps in the state, Brigadier-General Joe Komolafe rtd., said local farmers in the town had had a running battle with the herdsmen in the area, before going to their farm on Friday, but never came back alive, as they lost their lives to the herdsmen.
