The Chairman of Bogoro local government in Bauchi state, Iliya Habila has called for urgent assistance from relevant authorities at the federal and state levels after persistent rainfall in Bauchi State and its environs led to the washing away of bridges, culverts and the submerging of hundreds of hectares of farmlands in the council area.
The torrential rains in the past few days has resulted in the overflow of the river banks, also resulting in the flooding of farmlands.

The local government chairman told newsmen the time for government to act is now to prevent the loss of lives.
The flooded villages are Bar, Gizaki Ndit, Tadnum Bugun, and Dhabi where fear has gripped the residents who are now living in conditions of uncertainty.
