The British government has expressed its commitment to provide the needed support to Nigeria, including intelligence sharing to tackle security and other challenges in the country.
British Minister of African Affairs, James Duddridge said this in Abuja during a meeting with Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Minister Geoffrey Onyeama.
According to Duddrige the partnership between Britain and Nigeria cuts across a broad range of issues including security, military, humanitarian issues and education.
Onyeama said the security challenges in Nigeria had complicated a number of issues for the country, adding however that the federal government is determined to tackle those challenges.

After the meeting, journalists tried to get the British minister of African affairs to respond to the question of whether Britain would provide asylum to members of the proscribed Indigenous People Of Biafra, IPOB, but he declined to speak on the matter.
