Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has condoled with President Mohammed Bazoum, the government, and the people of Niger Republic, over the devastating floods that have left many dead and also destroyed homes.
In a statement issued by his senior special assistant on media and publicity Garba Shehu, the President said that the losses reported from the Niger Republic in the last two days were catastrophic and disturbing, while also taking note of flooding in many parts of the world, including some states in Nigeria.
The President affirmed that natural disasters are symptoms of climate change which all countries, including Nigeria, have committed to taking measures to prevent the adverse effects.

President Buhari also prayed for all the departed souls and the affected families.
