President Muhammadu Buhari has received the President of Burkina Faso, Roch Marc Christian Kabore, at the forecourt of the Presidential Villa.
Some senior government officials led by the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, were on ground to receive the Burkinabe leader.

After the usual pleasantries, the two leaders went into a closed door meeting.
Although reasons for his visit have not been made public, sources say it may not be unconnected with Nigeria’s closure of her land borders with her neighbours including Benin Republic, Chad, Cameroon, and Niger Republic.
ECOWAS leaders at an extraordinary meeting on the sidelines of the 33rd African Union Summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, appointed the Burkina Faso President as the Chairman of the Fact-finding Committee on the concerns of Nigeria and the complaints of her neighbours over the land border closure.
Though there is no timeline for the ECOWAS Committee headed by President Kabore to submit its report, there are expectations that the study of the situation would be completed as soon as possible.
