No fewer than five thousand police personnel have been deployed by the Cross River State Command for Saturday’s by-elections in Ogoja/Yala Federal and Akpabuyo State Constituencies.
The Commissioner of police,Aminu Alhassan made this known to Journalists in Ogoja, Friday, saying the deployment excludes other security operatives who will join in the exercise.
Alhassan advised trouble makers who have no business with the elections to stay in their houses, warning that anyone found violating the electoral guidelines will face the wreath of law.

The Police Warning came just as the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has raised the alarm over what it described as “over militarisation” of the three local Governments where election is to take place.
The Chairman of PDP in Cross River State, Venatius Ikem raised the alarm during an interview with journalists in Càlabar.
He said the party will not accept any form of election malpractices before, during and after the polls.
