The kidnapped Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC in Cross River State, Comrade Ben Ukpepi has been released to his family.
Eldest son of the state Union Leader,Sam Ukpepi confirmed to ait.live Rasheed Olanrewaju during a phone interview.
He was kidnapped by unknown gunmen nearly three months ago at his Akpabuyo CROSPIL Estate home in March ,2021.
Sam who would not state the condition of his father simply said “Yes he has been released to us this evening thank you” before he dropped the call.
All efforts to confirm if ransom was paid were unsucessful as repeated calls to his mobile line were not pick.

The police Public Relations Officer, DSP Irene Ugbo had assured the family recently that the kidnapped labour leader will be released, urging the family to be patient and allow the police to do its work.
The kidnappers according to the family source had three weeks ago allegedly demanded for 150million Naira ransom before the NLC chairman can be release,but police authority says it was just a mere rumor.
