The Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA, has approved the installation of lighting of fare-bouy along the Calabar Channel to allow easier navigation of vessels into the port.
Manager of the Port in Càlabar,Olumati Festus made this known when he recieved in audience the executives of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations,NIPR in his office.
Olumati explained that the state of facilities at one of the Nation’s Ports has been given attention by the port Management.assuring that operational efficiency of the Port will improve by the third quarter of the Year.
He said with incentives given by the port, private Sector operatives on the eastern Corridors can now make use of Càlabar Port for efficiency.

The Chairman of NIPR in Cross River State, Ben Okache assured the Management of Calabar Port of partnership in the area of training of personnel and Key staff of the Port.
The Port management said there was twenty percent reduction on ship duties, zero towage charge on barging operations and container, as well as zero harbor freight were part of the incentives to attract patronage.
