A Chadian woman wanted over the alleged torture and killing of a woman in N’Djamena has been arrested in northern Nigeria and returned to Chad to face judicial proceedings.
Mahadijiria Abdoulaye was tracked to Kano by operatives of the INTERPOL National Central Bureau, Abuja, after fleeing across the border.
Chadian authorities accuse Abdoulaye of involvement in the killing of Nazik Mahamat Saleh on May 3, 2026.
An international arrest warrant was issued by a court in N’Djamena in June for Abdoulaye and another suspect, Fatime Senoussi Mouktar.
Nigeria Police spokesperson, CSP Ani Iniedu says intelligence led INTERPOL officers to Railway Quarters in Kano, where Abdoulaye was arrested on August 5, 2026.

Police also say she is linked to narcotics trafficking in Chad.
Nine days after her arrest, Abdoulaye was repatriated to N’Djamena through Lomé, Togo, under cooperation arrangements between Nigerian and Chadian Police.
Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Olatunji Rilwan Disu says the operation demonstrates increased cross-border cooperation aimed at preventing suspects from escaping justice by moving between countries.
