It was a sober Children’s Day Celebration for students of Rochas Foundation College, Kano, who spent the day pleading for the release of the founder of the college, Rochas Okorocha from detention.
Rochas was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, for alleged misuse of public funds while he was the governor of Imo State.

But the moody students of his foundation are pleading for the release of the man they described as a father of the orphans.
The students said the arrest and subsequent detention, have affected them emotionally, thereby making learning difficult.
The Principal of the College, Yakubu Haruna, also joined the students to plead for the release of their benefactor.
He said they could not celebrate Children’s Day, because the students and teachers are sad, about the unfortunate incident.
The Children’s Day celebration is usually marked every 27th of May.
