Taraba State Government has assured that it will provide a hospitable and secured environment for the consortium of Chinese contractors that will execute the long awaited Mambilla Hydro-Power Plant Project.
The Deputy Governor, Haruna Manu confirmed this in Jalingo, when he was receiving China’s Ambassador to Nigeria, Zhou Pingjain.
The visit to Taraba State by Ambassador PingJain, was to celebrate the Lunar New Year with the Chinese Community in the State. It was also to explore areas of economic collaboration between the Republic of China and the Taraba State Government.

Manu told his visitor that the State produces the Highland Tea and other agricultural products, and has areas with vast potentials that should be harnessed. He assured of continuous safety and hospitality for Chinese citizens, including those to handle the Mambilla Hydro project.
The Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria says, the China-Nigeria bilateral trade has reached $19 billion and China hopes to gain exports from Taraba State.
He assured of the safety of Nigerians in China, especially with the Coronavirus epidemic.
Ambassador Pingjain was presented with Taraba made Black and Green Highland Tea as well as traditional attire by the Deputy Governor.
