Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC have arrested 27-year-old man, Chetachi Ibe in connection with alleged armed robbery and gun running in Imo State.
State Commandant of the Corps, Micheal Ogar says the man who hails from Akaeze in Ebonyi state has been on the run since December when 34 assault rifles were recovered from his hideout.
Ogar also explained that live ammunition, 15 automated teller machine cards, cheque book belonging to a company and identity cards were also recovered from him.

The suspect who claims to be an artisan denied any involvement in the crime.
NSCDC had on December 3, 2021 displayed a total of 34 assault rifles recovered from a hideout in Owerri and vowed to apprehend those behind the weapons.
Meanwhile, the Commandant has commended the Imo State Government for donating additional four patrol vehicles to the Command to boost its activities.
