The Sokoto State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC says over one thousand two hundred of its personnel will join other security agencies to ensure peaceful Governorship and State Assembly elections in the state.
At a media briefing in Sokoto, the NSCDC State Commandant Bala Alkali Argungu said the Command has trained and sensitized its personnel on the need to be professional and remain apolitical throughout the period of the elections.
The Commandant admitted that the Presidential and National Assembly elections was marred by some irregularities, but said security agencies in the state have restrategised and are better prepared to enhance the success of Saturday’s elections.

He said the preparedness of the Independent National Electoral Commission alongside the activities of security agencies will ensure Saturday’s elections will be a success
