Civil rights activist and politician Omoyele Sowore released

Civil rights activist Omoyele Sowore has been released and his international passport returned after few hours of arrest and questioning by security officials.

His associate, Deji Adeyanju had earlier confirmed his arrest to AIT News on Sunday morning.

Sowore was arrested on arrival at the Muritala Muhammad International Airport Lagos having been listed as a person of interest following last August’s EndBadGovernance protests

He was outside the country during the protests but was actively promoting the cause online
