The National Civil Society Council of Nigeria and its affiliates have called off their planned nationwide protest scheduled to hold today.
The group says the decision followed wider consultations with the telecoms regulator which shared its side of the issue with the group.
The council then urged Nigerians to accept the painful but necessary hike in the sector which is already overburdened with inflation, vandalisation of telecoms infrastructure, high cost of electricity among other factors.
