A Coalition of Civil Society Groups in Edo State are protesting the incessant petrol pump price increment and other crude oil products in recent times.
The protest commenced at Sapele road Benin City after which the protesters moved to the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, NUPRC where they blocked the gate.
Speaking on behalf of the protesters, Civil rights activists, Omobude Agho and Patrick Eholor say the reason for shutting down the NUPRC Office is because of their lack of concern for the suffering masses, being the body in charge of regulating pump price.

With the price of fuel in most fuel stations now going for as high as five hundred naira per litre and one thousand naira per litre for black market, their appeal is for relevant authorities to come to the aid of the masses by stoping petroleum pump price increment and the sale of black market.
